Alan asked me the other day if I would like to go to Toast for V-Day. Toast is this really expensive wine place, where on Tuesday, if you pay $50, they bring you 4 four courses that the chef prepares especially for you (and they’re different from the other people you’re eating with) and each one comes with a specially paired wine. I love their food. They’ve gotten me to eat some really strange things (Quail anyone?), and their wines are usually delicious too. Since V-Day is on a Tuesday, he thought I might want to go.

I told him his offer was sweet, but I wasn’t sure we could afford it. Anyway, I said, I would rather we just cuddle on the couch with pizza and beer, perhaps while watching a movie. He said, “That sounds infinitely better to me. Is Across the Universe ok?” And I said, “Yeah, please don’t buy me candy.” And he said, “Can do!”

And that was how we planned our Valentines day. I’m SO excited!!! (Though seriously, nothing will ever beat the V-Day we spent eating French food and going up the Eiffel Tower. V-Day in Paris was pretty epic.)
